Description

Corn Starch is a carbohydrate polymers-based powder extracted from the endosperm (the starchy inner core) of corn kernels. It is a highly refined, ultra-fine white powder that is completely odorless and tasteless. When mixed with cold liquids, it forms a slurry; when heated in the presence of moisture, its starch granules undergo gelatinization—swelling up to absorb liquid and creating a smooth, stable gel or paste.

Main Areas
of Use

  • 01

    Food Industry (Thickener & Anti-Caking)

Widely used to thicken sauces, gravies, puddings, and soups. It is also coated onto shredded cheeses and powdered sugar to absorb ambient moisture and prevent the product from clumping together.

  • 02

    Paper & Cardboard Manufacturing

Acts as an essential binding and sizing agent. It is applied to paper fibers to improve surface smoothness, crispness, and writing/printing strength, and serves as a primary adhesive layer in corrugated cardboard boxes.

  • 03

    Textiles

Used in warp sizing to stiffen and protect yarn threads, reducing friction and breakage during industrial weaving processes.

  • 04

    Pharmaceuticals

Functions as a binder and disintegrant in medicinal tablets, helping hold compressed pills together while allowing them to dissolve quickly once swallowed.

  • 05

    Bioplastics & Adhesives

Serves as a renewable, biodegradable raw material base for eco-friendly packaging materials and eco-resins.
