DDGS
Distilled Dried Grains and Solubles (DDGS)
Distilled Dried Grains and Solubles (DDGS) is a premium, nutrient-dense co-product obtained from the dry-mill ethanol production process. When grains (predominantly corn) are processed, the starch is entirely extracted and fermented into ethyl alcohol. What remains is a concentrated mix of the grain’s original protein, fat, fiber, and minerals, enriched further by the nutrients from the spent yeast. This wet mash is separated into solids (distillers grains) and liquids (solubles). The liquids are concentrated into a syrup, blended back with the solids, and dried thoroughly in industrial rotary dryers. The final product is a golden-brown, granular material with a pleasant, slightly sweet, toasted aroma.Premium, nutrient-dense feed co-product obtained from the dry-mill ethanol production process.
